Our Vision

Great Truths

Vision

To equip the global church with a comprehensive new Bible learning programme helping pastors and ministry leaders know Scripture better so they deliver better sermons and Bible teaching

Great Truths

Mission

To offer the majority world’s 10 million evangelical leaders and the world’s 700 million evangelical Christians a high-quality multimedia guide to Biblical teaching featuring digital content, local learning communities, and online classes

Great Truths

Goal

To create an ever-expanding range of first-class resources and activities, focussed on the Bible, and delivered to a global audience, especially those in the world’s disadvantaged communities

Bridging the Gap

If you’re a Christian leader, resources that help you understand and teach the Bible are tools of the trade. You need them to do your job.

But good material is expensive. If you’re a typical pastor in sub-Saharan Africa your monthly income may be 100-200 pounds. That makes access to books and training practically impossible.

There are at least 10 million pastors in the developing world – about 1 million in Nigeria alone.

Those pastors serve hundreds of millions of Bible-believing Christians.

And the vast majority aren’t theologically trained and can’t afford access to the Biblical knowledge and teaching content western pastors take for granted.

To repeat, 75% of majority world pastors and ministry leaders have no formal training and this is combined with a financial barrier.

By 2060 the world’s total Christian population is expected to grow to approximately 3.05 billion, with 9 out of 10 countries having the largest Christian populations outside of Europe and North America, and 6 out of 10 being in Africa – in size order of Christian population, Nigeria (175m), D R Congo (160m), Tanzania (117m), Uganda (96m), Kenya (92m), and Ethiopia (88m).1

Numerically, this is where the action is, and it’s the size of the opportunity / scale of the challenge Great Truths is addressing.

Jesus said ‘all.’ Well, in Africa we have the world’s highest birth-rate (in the short term roughly 20% of the world’s population) plus its fastest-growing Christian population. Yet most African church leaders have very limited access and exposure to high quality Biblical teaching and learning materials. For the current generation, it will take too long to equip pastors through conventional learning design – there simply aren’t enough good colleges, teachers, missionaries, or (affordable) training resources. We need to bridge the gap, and Great Truths is focussed on doing that.
